“Hailing from New York City, The Pin Up Girls’ founder, Julia, aka Vixen, is full of Big Apple attitude and moxie. Out and proud, this saucy, sexy vamp has mixed the glamour of old Hollywood and the glitz of modern-day Los Angeles to create the sexiest dyke dance troupe on the planet, The Pin Up Girls.” –Curve Magazine
Julia D. Romeo began her dance training in New York at the age of three.  Romeo is a master ballet, jazz, belly dance, hip hop, choreographer who has taught coast to coast from NY, CT, SF, LA and more.  She has also taught dance classes in Beirut, Lebanon.  She became a sought after dance instructor by the age of seventeen.  In 2006, soon after moving from New York to California, Romeo started The Pin Up Girls. The variety show, which combines burlesque, ballet, belly dance, fire tribal, hip hop, live zills & doumbek playing quickly expanded into an all American girl-group. The group quickly received media attention, particularly within the gay & lesbian community, landing them on Showtime, Logo Network, MTVmusic and AfterEllen to name a few. The Pin Up Girls have shared stages along side fabulous stars such as Jane Lynch, Lance Bass, and Margaret Cho. The group puts out several showcases such as Reform School and Fire Fly with weekly and monthly shows in both New York and Los Angeles.
“Watching a Pin Up Girls show is like being thrust back to ancient times and then being catapulted to the future.” -Curve Magazine
